SESSION 1: Building a Sound Portfolio
Jim Lebenthal is Cerity Partners’ Chief Equity Strategist and a Partner in their New York office. He has over twenty-five years of experience managing investment portfolios, and is a regular contributor on CNBC. Prior to joining Cerity Partners, Jim served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Lebenthal Asset Management LLC, where he developed, advised and served client relationships. Prior to joining Lebenthal Asset Management in 2007, he was a financial advisor for Goldman Sachs and a partner at Levy Harkins.
He was a Lieutenant of and qualified as a nuclear submarine engineer in the United States Navy where he was awarded 4 Navy Achievement Medals.Jim holds a BA in molecular biology from Princeton University, an MBA from The Wharton School of Business, and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation. In this talk, Jim will cover steps and criteria for stock selection in building a sound portfolio, provide a market outlook at the time of the event, and how his portfolio reflects that. This will cover how fundamental analysis is used to arrive at a company's stock value. How to develop a portfolio across style, market cap, sector and tactical positioning and how to make an assessment of the market environment and how it relates to a Portfolio.

SESSION 2: Impact & Opportunities from the Russia-UKR War
- Bill Jump retired from IBM as an executive project manager after a 48-year career. He is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley in electrical engineering and has a master’s certificate in project management from George Washington University. He is a lifetime member of AAII and serves on the board of the AAII Silicon Valley Chapter.
- Bill will review the scope of Russia and UKR in the world economy and provide an assessment of the dependencies on the various markets we invest in and depend on. Bill will provide an update on Fed policy response as it moves in a new direction to raise rates and combat inflation. Bill will lay out potential scenarios, outcomes, and some means to manage risk and take advantage of opportunities.
